Doctor Who News – New Mini-Adventure Written by Students! Matt Smith to carry 2012 Olympic Torch!

We are waiting for later this year when a new series with the Doctor will begin, but in the meantime there’s a new mini-episode which was written by students.
The authors are British Primary School students are from Ashdene Primary School in Wilmslow, they won the Script-to-Screen competition for primary school students aged nine to eleven in the uk.

In other Olympics news, Matt Smith who plays the Doctor will be beginning the torch relay in Cardiff today Saturday (May 26).
He tweeted “To carry the Torch is an honor, one I thought I’d never get … I’m very excited!”.

This morning Matt Smith was a trendng topic on Twitter.
Now in an earlier series we had seen David Tennant carry the Torch as the Doctor. There was a campaign to get the actor to carry the torch, well at least, a Doctor Who actor will be doing this.

As an aside – Matt Smith will be playing Olympic rower Bert Bushnell in a movie called “Going for Gold”, this will air Wednesday, June 27 on BBC America.
