WhoSliders v1 Characters

Universe Assumptions: Beforehand keep in mind that volume 1 occurs before the Time War finishes and before the new show. Volume 2 occurs after the Time War. The Doctor’s Universe-777 is the same one as seen in the Stargate shows but not the original Star Trek universe.. The Star Trek universe glimpsed in the 2009 movie is the same as the post-Time War Doctor Who universe… Confused? Hopefully not..

The series WhoSliders volume 1 features a number of characters, so for newcomers I have added a character list here (Well they are the WhoSliders themselves plus any characters we meet more than once):

The Doctor (In his fifth incarnation as played by Peter Davison on tv..):
A Time Lord, time-traveller from the alien planet called Gallifrey, who travels in space and time thanks to his TARDIS which looks like a police box, bigger inside than the outside…

Dear M.Varn Chandola, I highly appreciate your views as stated in your most valuable article “Modern Day Human Sacrifice In Iran. When we are trying to discover Galactic Civilizations, part of our fellow “Human Being” is amazingly living in the “Stone Age”. I agree with you that Human sacrifice in the name of religion is barbaric. (Animal sacrific in the name of religion is also barbaric). I raise my voice to save the life of Sakineh Mohammedie Ashtiani, and her children. I have shared your article with some of my friends in India and USA. I salute you for your bold views.

  11. Oh crikey! I had no idea this was omcing. And, I’ve not seen it. I’ve only seen one First Doctor serial a story called The Web Planet, and it’s reportedly considered a bit pants by fandom at large. I really liked it, though. It’s my only foray into sixties Who, and I found it strangely soothing. I like the rickety sets, the slow dialogue, the sheer AGE of it all. Comforting. Like the Clangers. I also found I quite liked Hartnell’s portrayal, although I won’t comment on how closely it matches his character as apparently portrayed here. Brilliant excuse to familiarise myself with a TV event that I should’ve watched long, long ago. SO RIDICULOUSLY excited for The Impossible Astronaut, by the way. It’s going to be astonishing. Also! Question for Mark. Don’t have to answer this, but as you read all the comments I just thought I’d throw it out there. Now you’re all caught up with modern Doctor Who, are there any plans for a summary, of sorts? I’m a bit curious as to how it all comes together, for you. Favourite Doctor, favourite companion, favourite series, favourite episodes, etc. As you go along, you occasionally say “oh I think this character could turn out to be my favourite” but that’s all before you’ve seen it in the context of everything else. Sorry. More work, I know. I’m just curious. :p

, the Auton window dmeuims from Spearhead From Space.Of the Doctors and companions interviewed on their fond memories, one can tell who actually enjoyed doing the program and really cared. The Doctors are Jon Pertwee, Colin Baker, Sylvester McCoy, and the companions being Carole Anne Ford, Frazier Hines, Deborah Watling, Nicholas Courtney, Nicola Bryant, and Sophie Aldred. Now that’s only a handful! You can learn about why Jon Pertwee preferred humanoid monsters, and Sophie Aldred’s near-fatal accident during the making of Battlefield. However, footage from incomplete stories (The Dalek Master Plan, The Underwater Menace, Web Of Fear), or dialogue from nonexistent stories (Fury From The Deep), is always a treat. And the five year purge by the BBC of half of the William Hartnell and two-thirds of the Patrick Troughton stories are among the most heinous crimes ever committed in BBC TV history. So a big Krynoid-size thanks to Ian Levine for saving The Daleks a day later and he would have been too late. The last minutes of Survival, the last aired TV story, and Sophie Aldred and Sylvester McCoy’s last words mirror the end of the program. I felt as if I could run forever. So did we.More Than 30 Years is a perfect synthesis of the program’s history, combining clips from the series, Who-related commercials, and with the presence of other programs e.g. Blue Peter, Pebble Mill At One, Crackerjack, a cross-section of British TV culture. As someone said early on, its essentially British quality made it appealing. And who better than Nicholas Courtney, a.k.a. Brigadier Alistair Gordon Lethbridge-Stewart, to narrate the documentary. So will the show return? Time will tell. It always does.
