FANFIC: Doctor Who and The X-Men II The Sequel

Doctor Who and The X-Men II The Sequel by Mr Scirev

FANFIC STORY NOTES

The first Doctor Who – X-Men crossover was written by yours truly for
the Scrolls of Gallifrey newsletter a real while ago. It was published
in 24th December 1995.
The original version which also involved quite a bit of X-Men backhistory,
including the X-Traitor saga, was even MSTified
with my permission. I even had a thought about a sequel to it at the time.
Little did I think that the sequel would take this form, thus I think it is
a better story.

Originally I wrote it as a second version of the original story, but it
ended up becoming a sequel. I didn’t even recall all the
plot details of the first version, so excuse me if it is different.
It IS supposed to be different.
It is written at a different time, after all. I’ve seen more Who, the
X-Men have been changed countless times, I’ve seen the great X-Men movie,
and I will choose that particular version of the X-Men for this story.
They came across in a realistic and straightforward manner. Also, this
fanfic features a brief Cameo by The Sliders.
They have a greater part in the Director’s Cut version of the original Doctor
Who and The X-Men. Adric does not appear in this story (he died in Earthshock
after all), instead Turlough appears.
It occurs after Mawdryn Undead but before Terminus in Classic Doctor Who.

POST SCRIPTUM

Meanwhile the Doctor looked at the spatial directional stabiliser which was indicating an unusual influx of fractal chronitons. “This should be Deva Loka”, he said. Once the TARDIS dematerialised, he operated the scanner controls and looked at the viewscreen. “No, this can’t be right. This can’t be our Deva Loka.
That looks green. As a jungle would. This is something brighter. Could this be Kobol?”

“It’s colourful, for sure, blue mountains, tall towers, blue trees.”, Tegan commented. The Doctor determined the current time. “This is OtherWorld, Roma’s home planet, within a special parallel flux beyond the normal parallel universes. Only we have arrived here a couple of years early. She has not met us yet. Let’s go and have a look, perhaps we can determine what went wrong and why we got here instead of Deva Loka.”

Tom: [singing] Ain’t gonna sit through this again.

After a brief jaunt to the future timeline (Earth-9910) Bishop wanted to visit, the TARDIS rematerialised in the X-Men’s grounds, and the Doctor went out to give his goodbyes. Bishop had come back with the Doctor, this was his home now.

Having no more reason to stay on within the X-Men’s universe, the Doctor was preparing to enter the TARDIS again, together with Hindle and his companions, who were on the X-Men’s Mansion grounds, playing a little baseball game with the X-Men. The game had stopped as soon as the TARDIS had materialised.

The Doctor told the X-Men that now they were prepared for whenever they might meet the Adversary and the Mara. He hoped to be back there when this would happen someday.

Crow: Oh, for a landmine.

An angry man entered the room in the TARDIS where the X-Men, the Sliders, Hindle, the Doctor and his companions were. “Another parallel version of myself”, he said looking at
Hindle. He was wearing military garb, his hand crouched behind him holding some deadly gun.

(Back in the SOL)
Tom: Who’s this guy now?
Mike: How should I know?

“Hindle!” Adric shouted.
There were two Hindles in the room. The one who just came in had a military beret, but one with some unrecognisable insignia. The new Hindle looked at the Professor – “You! But you were dead.”
“It seems you have mistaken me for somebody else.” Arturo looked untrustingly at the Hindle lookalike. “No, no, I’m Colonel Rickman and I killed you, Arturo a few hours ago! You can’t be alive!” Rickman said.

Crow: Oh, Benny A., you’re good for something.

Mike: Hey! I liked “Transit”!

Crow: You would.

The Doctor silently operated the TARDIS controls and the central
column rose. “Doctor, I can’t believe it. It’s so big inside your
TARDIS” said Xavier.

In the TARDIS

After the TARDIS has travelled to Universe-616, the Doctor has entered the co-ordinates of Earth-616, but somehow something is is blocking the TARDIS, as soon as it reaches the outer edges of the Solar System.
Adric said “The TARDIS scanners are indicating a huge facility with thousands of inhabitants, of various alien races, beyond the orbit of Pluto.” “It appears to be a transmat terminus, due to the energies which are being generated there”, the Doctor commented. “We’ll have to materialise there first”
“Doctor, is Earth-616 the same as our own Earth Prime?” asked Arturo.
“No, it is not. I am sorry.” the Doctor replied.

(PU, a couple of minutes back) Tegan exclaimed “Oh my God, that’s the Mara which had taken control of me, way back on Deva Loka!
Doctor, please don’t let it take control of me again!”

Crow: [Tegan] It might give me a personality or angst or something!

Nyssa said “calm down Tegan, the Doctor will find a way, you know he always does.”

console.
